Ole Miss offers jobs to students

Ole Miss offers students employment opportunities for almost any skill or ability.
Part-time employment for 10 to 12 hours per week is available to students who demonstrate financial need through the Federal Work Study program.
Jobs are provided in campus departments and at approved off-campus sites for the America Reads literacy program.
The America Reads program is designed to place college students in elementary schools to tutor children in reading. Undergraduate students employed in regular work-study positions are paid bi-monthly at a rate equal to minimum wage. Graduate students and America Reads tutors are paid $7 per hour. To apply for the work-study program, a student must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
Part-time jobs on campus other than those through the work-study program are coordinated by the Student Employment Office.
Students can work hours convenient to their class schedules at on campus jobs, according to the Student Employment Office.
Financial need is not a requirement for these employment opportunities. Several jobs are currently available. These include a student education assistant at University Museums, a student worker at the library, a student tour guide at University Museums, student note-takers for the Student Disability Services, a student worker at the law school, student phone-callers for the annual fund and a student worker in the Continuing Studies Department. For further information on these jobs, refer to www.olemiss.edu/depts/HR/joblists/student.html.
Amy Patton, a senior social work major, is a student worker in the Triplett Alumni Center.
"My job is very exciting. I am able to work around my class schedule and it seems like I always have the inside scoop on what's going on around campus. The money is not bad either," Patton said.
