Former Ole Miss student dead

Former Ole Miss student Houston Tohill was pronounced dead at Baptist Memorial Hospital Thursday morning, said hospital spokeswoman Peyton Warrington.

Tohill died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Tohill had apparently administered the gunshot the night before.

Tohill graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Business in the spring of 2000. He had been living in Oxford with his roommate, Patrick Bolen. Bolen was not available for comment.

While at Ole Miss, Tohill was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

The Oxford Police Department declined to comment on Tohill's death or the possibility of an ongoing investigation or autopsy.

Police Chief Steve Bramlett was not available for comment Thursday.
