Oxford's Honey Blonde will hold an album release party for their self-titled debut album tonight at Forrester's.
Formed two years ago, Honey Blonde cut their teeth playing all over Oxford and touring regionally in Missouri, Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi.
Promoting a self described sound of acoustic rock 'n' roll, Honey Blonde have already gained exposure for their single "Down" on Rebel Radio.
Drawing their inspirations from classics like Bob Dylan and Fleetwood Mac as well as modern acts such as Kevin Kenney, the band holds a well rounded sound marked especially by vocalists Rosamond Hawkins, Gin-gin Abraham, and Jamie Posey.
"Being based in Oxford helps because having so much talent around you makes you better," Posey said. "Bands that aren't good don't last long."
The album "Honey Blonde," was recorded in Oxford at Sweet Tea Studios, and is available at Uncle Buck's. To hear samples of the band, fans can log onto http://www.honeyblondemusic.com
"We've got a great scene that is developing in Oxford and we hope listeners take note," Posey said.
Honey Blonde will feature all the tracks from their new album tonight plus new cuts that will be featured on an album planned for later next year.
"This album is mainly acoustic, but right now we have 10 new songs that are more electric that will be featured on the next album," Posey said.
Albums will be available at the show and the band will take the stage at 10 p.m.
