Money collected from election violations totaled $104.89 and over 35 violations were reported in Tuesday's Homecoming Elections.
Twenty-nine of the violations filed were against Homecoming Queen candidate Sarah Beth Bailey. Bailey was only fined for two of these violations and most were thrown out for a lack of evidence. Bailey paid a total of $49.48.
"All these violations are coming from the same campaign," Bailey said. "I just don't understand what's going on."
Homecoming Queen candidate Abby Richards was fined $40.41 for a total of three violations.
The other candidate for Queen, Annabeth Freeman received one violation and paid $10. Freeman was charged for two instances of horn honking and yelling from cars.
"We don't even have anyone who drives these cars," Freeman said. "I don't see the validity of the violation. It didn't happen."
Miss Ole Miss candidate Heather Bryant had one violation brought against her for horn honking also. It was thrown out for lack of evidence.
Other violations included a $5 fine for Denise Lloyd, class favorite candidate, for campaign e-mails sent before official campaigning. Lloyd admitted to the violation.
