Abortion pill makes it easier to murder innocent babies

Have you ever wanted to kill someone? Now you can with the new and FDA-approved "do-it-yourself" abortion kit! For only one easy installment of $300, you can create your own stillbirth and flush life down the toilet like you would a dead spider or cockroach. It's safe, it's convenient, and hey, the French do it, so why shouldn't you?

The FDA recently approved Mifeprex, the abortion bill more popularly known as RU-486, for prescription use to women all over the nation. Yes sir, now the youth of America can go forth and be even more reckless and carefree with their sexual misbehavior because mom and dad can conveniently cover up something as trivial as childbirth in the bathroom down the hall!

The DM printed an editorial in Monday's paper declaring the glory of RU-486 and how wonderful it is The DM thought this pill would be for all women in the future concerning the fight for women's rights. This is one DM staff member who finds the whole concept behind a fetus-killing pill absolutely abominable and utterly disgusting.

Oh yes, I am proud of the advancements our society has made. Thousands of people suffer from cancer, AIDS and other ghastly diseases every day. Meanwhile, our medical world has been hard at work discovering yet another way to end human life. And why shouldn't they? With the way things are going, I am not so sure I want to see what comes out of the medical profession next.

To make matters worse, who has decided to spearhead the revolution for women's rights and the rampant use of RU-486? Democratic Presidential candidate Al Gore himself! The man who proclaims himself to be a Christian is a front-runner for the pill, stating it is necessary for "the health and safety of American women." Gore cares about the feelings of American women because they are alive and can vote one month from now while the unborn cannot. Fighting a morally righteous battle is not in the cards for Vice President Gore until an unborn fetus also contributes to the presidential election. I would like to draw some attention to the fact that people shy away from the politician who is willing to steal candy from a baby. What should we do with a politician who is willing to kill one?

One point I am especially fond of is the psychological effects of tossing the remains of your dead child in the trash. The DM Editorial Board, along with speakers from NOW (National Organization of Women) seem to think discarding of the bloody remains of your own flesh should be no more difficult than discarding of the newspaper after you've read the comics or flicking away a cigarette butt while driving down the interstate.

They're wrong. The emotional ramifications this will have are indescribable. How many people do you personally know who are comfortable killing someone? I would suppose the number is small.

What I understand, least of all, is something that has been overlooked by every "expert" in the field to the present day as far as I know. Only five years ago, there was a man who assisted individuals with terminal diseases in their own suicides. Dr. Kevorkian operated his little death service out of the back of a van because it was so morally reprehensible that he could not conduct such business in official medical establishments.

As much as I disagree with euthanasia, I am more appalled at the fact the federal government has condoned the murder of unborn children with the acceptance of RU-486. Kevorkian assisted those who wished to die. He was later punished by a court of law and imprisoned. Now, any potential mother can take the life of an individual who has not expressed a desire to die with no form of legal consequence whatsoever. As a matter of fact, she may be able to route the finances incurred through her family health plan. I tend to see Jack as a more compassionate individual than the mother willing to flush out the defenseless.

My 2-year-old niece was not born in the most convenient of circumstances and could have been aborted without a second thought, I suppose. However, when I get to hold her in my arms, listen to her share a song she's learned or see the fire in her eyes that comes with the anticipation of Christmas morning, I will never understand the monster it requires for someone to smite that perfect soul to avoid their own lifestyle modifications.
