A committee searching for the University of Mississippi's new athletic director will meet Saturday with the school's Athletic Committee.
Dr. Robert Weems, an Ole Miss law professor who is the chairman of both committees, said the purpose of the joint meeting is to "make recommendations to the Chancellor regarding the Athletic Director search."
The search committee has selected six finalists for the vacancy created when Pete Boone left the university last month to return to the banking industry. Boone was the AD for just more than three years.
The finalists are:
-- Richard George, Vanderbilt University senior associate athletic director.
-- Richard Giannini, Northeast Louisiana University athletic director.
-- Dan Radakovich, University of South Carolina associate athletic director.
-- John Shafer, University of Georgia senior associate athletic director.
-- Mark Webb, University of the South athletic director.
-- James "Butch" Worley, University of Texas associate athletic director.
