Letter's portrayal of Harrell paints negative picture
Dear Editor:
In response to Kisha McNulty's letter to the editor, I would like to tell you about the real Stephen Harrell. I have had the pleasure of knowing Stephen for over a year-and-a-half. I worked with him as an Orientation Leader, where I learned of his high moral character and love for Ole Miss.
Although Ms. McNulty makes Stephen sound like a person who doesn't have any ideas of his own, nothing could be further from the truth. Over the summer, Stephen discussed his ideas of how he wanted to improve Ole Miss for the students as well as how he wanted to put the student back into Associated STUDENT Body.
The boycott of Aramark is the only of Stephen's campaign issues that he has been talking about for less than two weeks.
If Ms. McNulty and her associate spoke with Stephen in a meeting to discuss their ideas, then it is Stephen's job, as a presidential candidate, to address these ideas and issues of the students. I realize if anything, this is positive proof that Stephen intends to listen to the students and take their ideas seriously.
By mixing their ideas with Stephen's, he was actually doing them a favor by providing an avenue for their ideas to be he heard.
This is the type of leader Ole Miss needs right now. It would be a crime to the future of our great university for Stephen to not be elected just because of one student's misleading letter. Thank you Stephen, for being a candidate the students can TRUST and SUPPORT.
