Diamond Rebs devour Florida Gators

Ole Miss swept an SEC opponent for the second time this season over the weekend when the Rebels won three over Florida in Oxford by scores of 8-0, 6-5 and 14-4.

The series win marked the first time Ole Miss has beaten the Gators in a weekend engagement since 1990 and the first sweep of Florida ever.

Crowds averaging approximately 2,000 saw the Rebels improve their record to 20-16, 10-5 SEC. Ole Miss moves into third place in the SEC West and third overall with the victories. Auburn is one game ahead of the Rebels with an 11-4 conference mark and Arkansas is on top of the West with a record of 12-3.

Rebels' offense improving, more physical

The Ole Miss Rebels showed flashes of being a solid offensive football team during Friday's 90- minute football scrimmage.

"Our offense is getting much better," head coach David Cutcliffe said. "With a new offense, you have to get comfortable with it before it can be successful, and we are starting to get comfortable. I was extremely pleased with our improvement over the last week. This is the most physical we have been since I have been here."
