'Long Home' beautiful, exciting but derivativeKathryn Justice "The Long Home," the debut novel by William Gay, does, indeed, bring to mind the great Southern novelists, as the dust jacket boasts. And the worst thing that I can honestly say about Gay's first work is that it, at times, brings to mind said Southern writers a bit too vividly. |
