Fall break would cut into Christmas holiday

Dear Editor:

Fall break might make sense if the idea is to start the semester earlier and use those extra days at the beginning of the semester for fall break. But if the idea is to start the semester at the same time and take fall break days from the Christmas vacation, fall break makes no sense at all especially for international students, some of whom travel for two days or more to get home.

In such a case, fall break would make it impossible for some international students to go home for Christmas holidays. I support fall break only if fall break days are taken from the beginning of the semester and not from Christmas break.
