Chesnutt brings guitar and stories to Oxford

There's something about a storyteller. If the tale teller happens to be from the South, people tend to listen more intently, especially if he is carrying a guitar and singing about what he knows best.

'Dead' marks a return to form for Scorsese

Scorsese is back. After two sub-par films (the overlong "Casino" and "Kundun," which received good reviews but no viewers), Marty the Man has returned to form with "Bringing Out the Dead," the sort of artsy-yet-entertaining film that made him famous.

Alvin Youngblood Hart plays Killing Floor blues radio show

From the looks of his critically acclaimed debut album sleeve, Big Mama's Door, one might assume that bluesman and Chicago native Alvin Youngblood Hart hails from the Mississippi Delta. The cover features Hart strumming his guitar on the front porch of a ramshackle shed, and even though he's from an urban area, Hart has a strong link to Mississippi. And he plays like it too.
