SETTING UP YOUR COMPUTER

• Create STRONG PASSWORDS that you can remember.
• Turn OFF file sharing.
• Enable your operating system FIREWALL
• Turn off or delete any software features that are not needed.

ON A FREQUENT BASIS

• Keep your anti-virus software definitions updated.
• Don't allow files from unknown sources on your computer.
• Regularly install Windows Updates
• Keep your application software updated
• Back up data files.

PHYSICAL SECURITY

• Ssshhh! Keep your passwords secret. Do not write them down and keep them at your desk.
• Install laptop and desktop locks (see http://us.kensington.com/html/11179.html).
