Welcome Brother Alpha Upsilon Members, Rushees, and Guests

As we usher in the new year and try to decide where Alpha Upsilon shall set out in the coming months, let us pause to examine the recent year. Yet again, AY surpassed all expectations by raising over fifty thousand dollars for our national philanthropy, the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) through our annual “Fight for a Cure” in the Tad Smith Coliseum, hosting the annual Willie Price Easter Egg Hunt in the grove with the ladies of Kappa Kappa Gamma, and participating in numerous other fundraising events. Kappa Alpha philanthropic activities brought national and local attention. Nationally Alpha Upsilon was named the top Greek fundraiser and donor to MDA on the Jerry Lewis telethon fundraiser. Locally, Alpha Upsilon was awarded Outstanding Service Project by the University of Mississippi’s order of Omega. Province Council was hosted in Oxford at the kappa Alpha house and Old Chemistry (Delta State University, Millsaps College, University of Southern Mississippi, and Mississippi State University) collected man awards from national Kappa Alpha Order headquarters. Alpha Upsilon received Honor Roll of Academic Excellence for having one of the highest average GPAs. We are honored to have received these awards for the chapter’s hard work this past year and will evermore dutifully strive during the coming months to continue to set Kappa Alpha Order Standards. As always, excellence shall be our aim, and nothing less will be accepted.
