This show gives a history of the public trust doctrine as it is used in the United States and Mississippi and an analysis of the 1996 Secretary of State's exchange of public trust tidelands off the Mississippi coast to a casino for 4,225 acres of coastal wetlands.

ESSENTIAL FISH HABITAT REACHES THE MISSISSIPPI SOUND

With the 1996 Congressional mandate for increased attention to fish habitat, the new statutory and regulatory tool in fishery management became Essential Fish Habitat or EFH. This show describes EFH and dispels the myths about this new tool.
