One of the founding principles of Alpha Omicron Pi is to be of service to others and to bring into the world around us a spirit of love as an opportunity to give back to our communities.
During the 2008-2009, school year the Nu Beta Chapter donated over $29,000 to various charities and organizations.
Our members are also involved in countless organizations for this reason including: LeapFrog, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Barksdale Reading Institute, The Humane Society, Family Crisis, Angel Ranch, religious organizations, Habitat for Humanity, and many others!

The Nu Beta chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi values the service and volunteerism of all of its members. In addition to the dedication of many girls to service organization in the Oxford and Ole Miss areas, the chapter supports many local charities through its monthly $500 Philanthropy donations. Each month, the chapter chooses an organization or a cause in the Oxford area to support both physically and monetarily.
Alpha Omicron Pi’s International Philanthropy supports Arthritis, Juvenile Arthritis and related diseases. Since 1967 when we adopted the Arthritis Foundation and Canadian Arthritis Society as our international philanthropy, over one million dollars has been raised by AOIIs to help researchers find a cure for this crippling disease that, so often, targets women as its victims. Nu Beta also hosts philanthropic events every semester to benefit our national philanthropy, arthritis.
This fall, the Nu Beta chapter will host its first annual Strikeout for Arthritis baseball competition. This event will involve both the Ole Miss and Oxford communities. We will be inviting Little League and high school teams in the area to participate in a baseball tournament with businesses, organizations, and fraternities will be sponsoring them. The event will also feature a bar-b-que in the Grove for everyone!
During the spring semester, we also plan to host the annual AOII Pie Sale, which is open for all of campus to come in and enjoy different types of pie. The night also features an entertaining pie eating contest between each of the fraternities on campus!!
The unofficial mascot of AOII is the panda bear. To honor that, Nu Beta has adopted a panda bear from the Memphis Zoo! AOII loves Ya-Ya!!
