The Ole Miss Ambassadors volunteer many hours of time to aid the Office of Admissions in daily recruitment activities.  Yearly, the Office of Admissions hosts over 2600 students for daily campus visits with Ole Miss Ambassadors providing the tours for these students and their families.  Every year, the Ambassadors Program has about 90 active members who participate in a variety of recruitment events including conducting campus tours, assisting with special events on and off campus and corresponding with prospective students.  Many prospective students have made their decision to attend Ole Miss based on their experience with an Ole Miss Ambassador.  The Ambassadors also create a great impact on parents, since they represent our student body.

Benefits of Becoming an Ole Miss Ambassador

The Ole Miss Ambassadors Program is a wonderful leadership opportunity that prepares bright students for leadership in other campus activities such as Orientation Leaders, the Associated Student Body and the Student Programming Board, student religious groups, Greek recruitment counselors, community service groups, and many more campus organizations. Most Ambassadors are involved in a variety of organizations and clubs on the Ole Miss campus.  In addition to being elected Homecoming Maids, Campus Favorites, Colonel Reb and Miss Ole Miss, Ole Miss Ambassadors are frequently included in Who’s Who Among Students In American Colleges & Universities and the Ole Miss Hall of Fame.

Member Requirements and Benefits

Members are asked to complete a certain number of tours, work special events and write letters and postcards to stay active. The Office of Admissions rewards student ambassadors by sponsoring an “Ambassador of the Year” scholarship, hosting a special honor event each semester, and giving away prizes to active members.

How to Become an Ambassador

Applications for Ambassadors are available the first week of each semester in the Admissions Office in Martindale Student Services Center. Those chosen to progress further in the selection process will be asked to attend the Selection Session, which consists of various rounds. All who are invited to become Ambassadors must attend the Ambassador Training Retreat each semester.
