The University of Mississippi

The University of Mississippi's student division of ASME is intended to promote professionalism and education in the field of mechanical engineering. Members participate in activities that promote leadership and communication skills and have the opportunity to attend regional conferences that allow students at Ole Miss to interact with engineering students at other universities.

At regional student conferences members have a chance to communicate with other engineers, and to compete in student design competitions. Students also have the opportunity to present work they have done in research, or in class to a technical audience. These regional student conferences are held annually, and provide student members with experience they do not receive in the classroom

Student leadership positions are offered within the Ole Miss student division of ASME. Officers are elected each year to conduct meetings and to organize trips for the group. These officers obtain the training necessary to perform their duties while attending an additional regional student leadership conference.

The experience you receive as a student member of ASME will help you to a successful career as a mechanical engineer.
