2007 Pay Equity Report - View PDF
In the Spring of 2005, Chancellor Robert Khayat supported the Commission's request to invite Dr. Christine Cress to campus to discuss strategies for assessing the campus climate for women at the University of Mississippi.
Based on Dr. Cress’s Site Visit Report, the CSW submitted four recommendations to the Chancellor and Provost Carolyn Staton. The Provost approved these recommendations on August 15, 2005.
The 2007 Pay Equity Report was a partial response to one of the four
recommendations and was intended to provide a quantitative analysis of the status of women employed by the University of Mississippi.
Campus Climate Surveys
The Commission on the Status of Women has conducted three major surveys (in 1979, 1986, and 1994) to determine the needs and concerns of university women.
The CSW has utilized the results of these surveys as the basis for workshops on women's interests, elimination of discriminatory personnel matters, establishment of a sexual harassment policy, an affirmative action officer, women on all search committees, a minority applicant pool, and women in upper administrative positions.
The results of the 1994 survey are available online or in the J.D. Williams Library or Sarah Isom Center.
