Membership Benefits :
The benefits of membership in Gamma Beta Phi are many and varied because of the Society's dual role as both an honor society and a service organization. Those benefits include:
1. A first-class membership certificate, two decals, a copy of the national constitution, a copy of the GAMBET (the national newspaper) when it is published, and upon request, a membership card. The first inductees of a newly-chartered chapter will have "Charter Member" engraved on their certificate.
2. Publicity and recognition of achievement.
3. Membership is completely transferable (without any further national fee) to any other college or university where a chapter exists or can be formed.
4. The satisfaction of active participation in meaningful service projects.
5. Camaraderie with other honor students during projects and social events.
6. Opportunities to improve leadership capabilities by taking on responsibilities at local, state and national levels.
7. Encouragement to stand for and grow in the virtues and ideals championed by Gamma Beta Phi (refer to the Code of Ethics found in Appendix ).
8. The opportunity to participate in the annual State and National Conventions.
9. Membership and service in such an organization is considered an advantage by graduate and professional schools and by prospective employers.
10. Auxiliary items such as jewelry, tee shirts, pennants, jerseys, etc., are offered at the wholesale cost plus shipping and handling.
11. Upon notification by the chapter, Headquarters sends to a graduating member, a beautiful diploma seal and an invitation to join the Alumni Association.
The member must have been in good standing in the chapter to be eligible.
It is National Senate policy to provide these as a service and not as a way of raising money.
