Screening of the 50-minute film "Women of the Holy Kingdom," by filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, and a panel of international women on campus celebrate International Women's Day. Film explores why the Muslim religion's holiest land of Saudi Arabia treats half its population -- or women -- as second-class citizens. Discussion centers on customs and values in panelists' home countries and how they have carried over these customs -- or not carried them over -- since coming to America.
Panelists are Daphne Ingene of China, Akanksha Gupta of India, Anita Dall of Austria and Lamide Alabi of Nigeria. The hourlong panel discussion begins at 4:30 and the 50-minute film begins at 5:45.
