Cherry Douglas

 Cherry Douglas was born on March 15, 1956 in Springfield, Massachusetts. She began studying Isshin-ryu in 1985 under Robert Holley at the University of Mississippi. In 1991 she began training with Sensei Advincula. She was promoted to Rokudan in June, 2008. She has traveled to Okinawa twice; in 1999 and 2004 to study Ryukyu kobudo with Kotaro Iha of Ryu Kon Kai, and Kensho Tokumura of Goju-ryu karate and to learn about the culture, customs and traditions of Okinawa. She has been studying Ryu Kon Kai Kobudo since 1999 under Sensei Advincula and Kotaro Iha. She is currently the Advisor of the Ole Miss Karate Club, teaching classes at the Sakura dojo and the Head Secretary of the Isshinkai, Tomonokai.
