Enbukai 2007

 

Isshinkai teaches traditional Isshin-ryu with the 8 empty hand kata and seven kobudo kata as taught by the founder Sensei Tatsuo Shimabuku.

Tomonokai is a friendship group based on Okinawa culture through the Okinawan martial arts.

Enbukai is a get together as a group to look, listen and learn about the teachings of our founder Sensei Tatsuo Shimabuku. His believe was "All bottles are good" so we perform and invite all martial arts. It is also a time to relax and learn from others. It is a time to honor the teachings of our founder. The Isshinkai Tomonokai Enbukai is all about keeping our roots with Okinawa.

The 2007 Isshinkai Enbukai will celebrate two events. To continue teaching Okinawan customs and traditions, this years 2007 Enbukai will be dedicated to celebrate and honor Tatsuo Shimabuku's 100 year birth and 33 year anniversary after death memorial. Okinawan custom dates a person as one year old at birth counting the nine months in the womb as the first year of life. Another Okinawan custom is holding a 33TH anniversary memorial 32 full years from the date of death.
