Glenn Wargo, Sr.

Sensei Wargo began his training in December 1963 at North Jersey Jujitsu Academy, Montclair, NJ. His instructor was Fred Stahl. He advanced to green belt in 1965 before joining the United States Air Force. While in the U.S.A.F. Mr. Wargo studied Tang Soo Do.

He was a pistol marksmanship instructor, range safety officer and active competitor. He was a member of "Greeley's Irregulars", a police/civilian pistol team based in Cedar Grove, NJ during 1970 to 1976.

In 1977, Mr. Wargo rejoined Fred Stahl in his new style and dojo, "AMDO", in Wayne, NJ. During this time, he was studying with his son.

He put off his training until 1982 when he joined Dale Jenkins' Jersey Judo Karate Kai, under Mark Kowalski. He spent his time training in multiple dojos such as Newton, Ogdensburg, and West Milford (Dance Academy 23). After the death of Dale Jenkins, Mr. Wargo joined his son at the Randolph YMCA dojo with Rick Norris. Shortly after the Mine Hill Dojo of New Jersey Judo Karate Academy opened, he started to study with Lou Popeck. In 1988, he was promoted to Shodan. Mr. Wargo went off to create a new school in Rockaway-White Meadow Lake in the same year. He became a senior instructor of Black Dragons Karate. He received his Nidan in 1993. Angi Uezu welcomed Sensei Wargo into the Okinawan Isshinryu Karate Do Association and confirmed his rank in 1993 and 1995.

Mr. Wargo and his son Glenn, started Peaceful Valley Martial Arts in September of 1995. He left Lou Popek in 1996 and began training with Phil Barry. In 1998 he was promoted to Yon Dan at our seminar with Sensei Advincula. Throughout 1998 and 1999 Mr. Wargo had multiple opportunities to train with various military groups. He trained with the U.S. Air Force Security Police at Andrews Air Force Base, the U.S. Army Airborne Troops at Hunter Army Air Field and Airborne Troops at Fort Campbell.

On June 10, 2000 Sensei Advincula promoted Sensei Wargo to Godan. He is currently the Senior Instructor at White Meadow Lake and West Milford. He is also a nationally ranked referee and competitor in the A.A.U.
