The Ole
Miss chapter of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars inducted 200
students at Paris-Yates Chapel Monday evening. After three years of being
on the university's campus, the honor society, whose national members
include poet Maya Angelou and Watergate journalist Bob Woodward, hopes to
go far in not only promoting academics but also community service. The
evening's keynote speaker was Ole Miss Interim Associate Provost and Law
Professor Timothy Hall who stressed to the audience of students, their
parents and friends that "success as a student requires the support of
other people, not just your own efforts."
