Brotherhood

Dreams of old gold and dregs of wine conjure up images that titillate the senses. There are special senses that only a brother of Phi Delta Chi has. Ordinary persons cannot comprehend these; only a brave soul with a sworn oath to hold true to the ideals of Phi Delta Chi may understand. New initiates still find these senses tickle their noses and fill the air around all brothers, more like a special magic than a tangible asset. A sense of family and one of honor unites us, while a sense of duty offers a purpose to all brothers.

The stress from academic studies and the fear of relocation that come with collegiate pursuits can often cause a student to feel isolated. Concerned with both social function and the realm of academia, the inclusive brotherhood of Phi Delta Chi gives new initiates a sense of belonging. Brothers of the Alpha Epsilon chapter, much like the families left behind, also make it a point to overlook members’ shortcomings. Such a fellowship leads to a sense of familiarity beyond the comprehension of someone outside the circle of brothers known as Phi Delta Chi.
The sense of honor instilled by the brothers of the fraternity is a form of respect. Students new to the format of a professional curriculum find a new respect for themselves in addition to that shown for the faculty. This in turn sets into motion the embodiment of the ideals and values of Phi Delta Chi. Such an embracement strengthens members’ sense of duty to the profession and the people they serve. There is a duty for each member to serve in any capacity he can and to represent the fraternity in all aspects of life.

The unique brotherhood experienced through Phi Delta Chi prepares members for their chosen careers while allowing them to grow on both personal and professional levels. The brothers revel in the knowledge that they are Phi Delta Chi.
