Turner Center memberships
- The Turner Center will permit the spouse of a deceased retiree to continue h/her membership. They must complete a membership form at 214 Turner Center and pay the annual membership fee of $65.
- Several retirees said they are not required to pay an annual membership fee. Bill Kingery provided explanation stating that complimentary memberships were available to retirees (age 62 and older) when the Turner Center first opened. In 1997 the policy changed and retirees began paying the same membership fee as active employees. Those who initially received complimentary memberships were grandfathered in under the original policy.
J. D. Williams Library - emeritus retirees can check out materials for a 12 month period. All other retirees are considered community users and are only permitted to hold materials for 28 days.
University Police Department – per Linda Christian, the spouse of a deceased retiree is permitted to receive a decal (for a new vehicle) if h/her spouse had already been issued a retiree decal. Linda said they should have record on file if the spouse was previously issued a retiree decal. Under such circumstances, UPD will probably just ask to see the spouse’s ID (drivers’ license, etc).
