Poster Guidelines

                      Undergraduate/Graduate Student Poster Symposium

the Office of Research, the Graduate School,
the School of Applied Sciences,
the School of Engineering,
the School of Liberal Arts,
and the School of Pharmacy

 

Poster Guidelines

1) Sigma Xi does not pay for the printing of student posters. It is the responsibility of the author(s) to find those funds.

2) You may use whatever format (single sheet or multiple Power Point slides) you have available for your poster.

a) If you use one sheet, we recommend that the maximum size be 4' x 4'.
b) If the poster will be or was used for a national or regional conference, follow the poster submission guidelines for that conference.

3) Poster session is between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm in the E.F. Yerby Conference Center. Posters set up starts at 10:00 am and must be completed by 10:45 am. Posters must be removed by 2 pm.

4) Presenters should remain by their poster until it has been judged. Some posters are eligable for multiple awards, be prepared to stay by your poster till the poster session is complete to allow judges time to evaluate all posters.

5) Presenters should check the abstract book or abstract list to find out where to display their poster.

6) ABSOLUTELY NO TAPE OR GLUE MAY BE USED TO AFFIX POSTERS TO THE DISPLAY BOARDS.

 

AWARDS


Awards will be given by Sigma Xi and the Office of Research
to the student with the best poster in each scientific category.

Awards will be given for the Best Undergraduate Poster
by the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College.

Awards will be given for the Best Female Graduate and Undergraduate Posters
by the
American Association of University Women.

Posters will be judged on both scientific content and presentation.

Posters and/or data previously presented at the
Sigma Xi Poster Symposium are not eligible for awards.

Data should be reflective of research conducted within the previous 18 months.
