This year’s abstract submission process requires two steps: the first is the completion of an online form (poster submission form) and the second is emailing an attached Word document of your abstract.

  • Completion of this form is required. The information provided will be used to help with logistics.

  • Please be sure to complete the entire submission form including which category best corresponds to your project: (We reserve the right to re-categorize as necessary)

Abstract Guidelines:

  • The maximum abstract length is 30 lines: which includes title, authors, affiliations and abstract text. Below are more specific guidelines. Abstract content is the responsibility of author(s); Sigma Xi will not edit for grammar or spelling. In case of serious flaws the abstract will be returned for revisions.
  • General Guidelines:
    • Save as: Microsoft Word Document.
    • Font: Times New Roman, size 12.
    • Spacing: Single Space.
    • Max Length: 30 lines (including blanks).
    • Title, All Caps.
    • Author(s) and Affiliation(s)-
      • Presenter’s Name (First Name, Last Name), Followed By Co-Authors (such as Collaborators, Research Advisor) then Affiliation Addresses.
    • One Empty Line Between Author(s) and Affiliation(s) And Abstract Text.
    • Abstract Text (Single Spaced)
  • Additional Information:
    • Posters previously presented at the Sigma Xi Poster Symposium are not eligible.
    • Data should be reflective of research conducted within the previous 12-18 months.
    • If you do not receive confirmation of your submission within 36 hours of submission, please contact us.
