Ole Miss's chapter of Sigma Tau Delta maintains a mailing list, sigmatd@listserv.olemiss.edu, for not only its members but for anyone who wants or needs a place to discuss literature, creative or academic writing, or related subjects. To join (or withdraw), read the message below and then fill out the form at the bottom of the page.
This list has been constructed primarily for Sigma Tau Delta Members, and will be used as a means of distributing information only for them: meeting times, members-only social events, etc. However, membership in this list is not restricted to Sigma Tau Delta members--prospective members, or anyone interested in English, Literature, Creative Writing, or studies in the Humanities is welcome here, as long as he or she abides by the rules.
The rules aren't many:
- No prurient material or hate-speech
- No personal attacks on anybody or any group
- No chain-letters, urban legends, or virus rumors
- No advertisements of a purely commercial nature (do advertise gatherings and readings, please!).
What you can do is talk about any aspect of English studies here--
- discuss classes, creative readings, drafts of poems or stories
- keep intelligent conversation about works literature
- ask for peer responses to papers or conference presentations you're working on
- begin or join a study group for a particularly challenging test/course
Any discussion about the study of English and related disciplines is very welcome. Any notice of a social event amicable to lovers of writing is also welcome.
To reach the current owner of this list, send mail to owner-sigmatd@listserv.olemiss.edu, or to the president/sponsors (see "Chapter Contacts").
Society Members:
Anything you post that has to do with Sigma Tau Delta members only should be clearly identified as such. Some benefits of the society, such as scholarships, are only available to members, but this list itself will ideally serve a wider audience. |
