Important Housing News
Dear Parents:
Greetings from the Department of Student Housing and Residence Life! We are very excited about the many changes that are occurring on campus and in our department. We have new residence halls, new living-learning communities, and fantastic social and academic opportunities for our incoming freshman classes. Our freshman classes continue to grow each year, an accomplishment of which we are proud. However, the growth of the freshman class means that housing space is limited. In an effort to satisfy the university freshman residency requirement, it is necessary for us to make sure we have enough beds on campus for all our new freshman students. Although we do house returning students in Northgate and Campus Walk, we simply do not have enough space to house all students who want to remain on campus. For the limited spaces that we will have available for returning students, we will begin accepting applications in March. Students will receive additional information on returning student housing sign-up via their Ole Miss email.
To better serve our returning students, we are working with a group known as "Off Campus Partners" to maintain a website that aids students in finding rental properties in the Oxford area. This comprehensive site also includes roommate search and furniture exchange message boards. In this time of transition, we are committed to providing housing support to all of our students and parents and welcome you to contact us with any questions or concerns.
