It is hard to believe a month has passed already since our initial newsletter. I want to thank every single one of you who shared your positive comments about our newsletter and hope to hear from more of you as we continue this new tradition. So far the spring semester is off to a great start, and I am excited that your students are part of it. Spring here in Oxford is a wonderful time of the year that offers a lot of social and cultural opportunities. I encourage all of you to empower your students to get involved on campus and take advantage of all the opportunities we have here waiting for them.

With January behind us, our efforts are now channeled to the upcoming orientation season and, most importantly, Fall Family Weekend 2012. Check our next newsletter for the confirmed date of the event, so you can start making those hotel reservations and arranging to be here for a wonderful time. With that in mind, also check out the football schedule since lots of exciting SEC matches will take place here on campus.

While fall will be jam-packed with opportunities to visit your students, I encourage all of you to find some time to visit this spring and experience both Ole Miss and Oxford. Get to know your students' circle of friends to truly understand what the Ole Miss family is all about as well as understand what your students experience day-to-day. While they might seem to be having a wonderful time right now, just know their state of mind might change in the coming weeks with the inevitable stress that tests and midterms bring.

The great news is that no matter what happens, you and your students have a support system that will help you make it through the semester. As you read this issue, remember a couple of things you can share with your students such as academic calendar deadlines and upcoming events. As always, call us, write us, and give us your feedback. We love hearing from you, and so do your students!
