Brief Bio
Dr. Black joined the faculty at Ole Miss after having spent 3 years as an Assistant Professor of Exercise Science at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, GA. He graduated from Hendrix College in Conway, AR with a B.A. in Biology in 2000. He received both his Master's and Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology from the University of Georgia, completing his Ph.D. in 2007. Chris also served as a post-doctoral fellow at in the Exercise Psychology Laboratory at UGA during the 2007-2008 academic year working on projects examining the effects of ginger supplementation on muscle pain and inflammation associated with exercise. Chris has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in exercise and muscle physiology, biomechanics, and exercise testing and prescription. His primary research interests and training are in the area of exercise and muscle physiology and the causes and performance/adherence consequences of exercise related to musculoskeletal pain.
