FONTAINE BUEL CAMPBELL
Brief Bio
F.B. "Pete" Campbell, Jr. is Assistant Professor of Social Work. Dr. Campbell received his Masters of Social Work (M.S.W.)degree from Louisiana State University in 1971 after graduating from Mississippi College in 1967 and completed his Doctorate in Education in Administration at Campbell University (NC)in 1990. He practiced clinical social work in family counseling, mental health and private practice settings for 15 years before launching a 22 year career in higher education in 1986. Dr. Campbell held the following administrative/teaching faculty positions at four institutions before coming to the University of Mississippi: Assistant Professor and Director of the Social Work Program at Campbell University, Associate Professor and Professor and Chair of the Department of Sociology, Social Work and Family Studies at Mississippi College, Professor and Chair of the Division of Education at Lees- McRae College (NC),and Director of the Baccalaureate Social Work Field Education at Baylor University. Dr. Campbell has received teaching awards at several universities from both faculty and students. His primary research interest includes studying various applications of Jungian Psychological Type theory in micro, mezzo, and macro social work practice and in social work education.
