UNIVERSITY OF MISSISSIPPI SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES


The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Brief Bio

Carl Jensen is a 1978 graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy. He served in the Navy from 1978 until 1983, first aboard the nuclear fleet ballistic missile submarine USS George Washington Carver and then as an aide to the Commander of Submarine Group Five. He subsequently enjoyed a 22-year career in the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where he served as a field agent, a forensic examiner, and a Supervisory Special Agent in the Behavioral Science Unit. Upon his retirement from the FBI in 2006, Dr. Jensen joined the RAND Corporation as a Senior Behavioral Scientist. In 2007, he joined the Legal Studies faculty at the University of Mississippi while retaining adjunct status at RAND. His current research interests include novel and effective approaches to counterterrorism, individual and group dynamics as they relate to extremist and terrorist groups, the practical application of criminal justice research, and applied futures research. In addition to his undergraduate degree, SSA Jensen holds a Master of Arts degree from Kent State University and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Maryland. He was a 2004 recipient of the University of Virginia’s Jefferson Award, given for excellence in criminal justice research and a 2008 recipient of the Thomas A. Crowe Outstanding Faculty Award. Dr. Jensen has authored and co-authored numerous articles and reviews which have appeared in various professional and academic publications.
