The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Brief Bio

Dr. Mahavir B. Chougule is an Associate Professor of the Department of Pharmaceutics and Drug Deliery and Research Associate Professor in the Research of Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Pharmacy, University of Mississippi,University, MS, USA. Dr. Chougule is drug and gene delivery scientist with more than 10 years of research experience. Dr. Chougule's translational drug and gene delivery research laboratory investigates the use of therapeutic agent, siRNA, proteins and targeted nanotechnology based formulations for treatment of cancer and pulmonary disorders. He applies drug delivery, biopharmaceutics, bioengineering, pharmacokinetic, molecular biology, pharmacodynamics, and bioimaging techniques to improve understanding of drugs or nanocarriers targeting mechanism. Dr. Chougule worked as a faculty for six years at the University of Hawaii's the Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy. He was also an ĎAssociate Faculty Member' at the NCI-designated University of Hawaii Cancer Center. Dr. Chougule's also worked in the pharmaceutical industries. Dr. Chougule has 29 peer-reviewed publications, eight patents, seven book chapters, 16 invited talks, and more than 60 scientific presentations to his credit. He is a recipient of national AACR Minority-Serving Institution Faculty Scholar in Cancer Research Awards and The Koichi and Taniyo Taniguchi Award for Excellence and Innovation. He serves on NIH, DOD, European Research Council, Foundations or Institute grant review panels. He served as a Guest Editor and also serving as a member of the editorial board on five international journals.
