The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Brief Bio

Debra Spurgeon is Associate Professor of Music at the University of Mississippi where she conducts the Women’s Glee and Chamber Singers and teaches choral methods and undergraduate conducting. In 2007 she was appointed national chair for Repertoire and Standards Chair for Women’s Choirs with the American Choral Directors Association. Dr. Spurgeon has conducted high school and collegiate honor choirs in the South and Southwestern regions, including the Oklahoma Women’s All-OCDA Choir and Middle Tennessee Women’s Honor Choir. A native of Missouri, she holds the Bachelor of Music Education degree with honors from Truman State University, the Master of Music Education degree from the University of Arkansas, and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in vocal performance from the University of Oklahoma where she was a recipient of the Benton/Schmidt Voice Award. She has performed with the Ole Miss Opera program as the Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute, as soprano soloist in the Mozart Requiem, with the Ole Miss combined choirs and as featured soloist with the Mississippi Early Music Ensemble and the Mockingbird Ensemble.
