Lin Ge

Biography

Right after earning her Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh, Lin Ge joined Ole Miss Business as an Assistant Professor of Finance. Her research focuses on Empirical Corporate Finance, specifically in the areas of Shareholder Activism, Corporate Governance, and Corporate Disclosure. Dr. Ge has presented her research at the top International and National finance conferences such as the American Finance Association (AFA), the Financial Management Association (FMA), the Midwest Finance Association (MFA), the Eastern Finance Association (EFA), the Northern Finance Association (NFA), the Southern Finance Association (SFA), and others. One of her research papers was recognized as the “Outstanding Paper in Empirical Finance” at the Annual Meetings of the Southern Finance Association (SFA) in 2020.

Dr. Ge has taught Financial Markets and Institutions, Investments, and Financial Decision Making (a Case-Based Course) at Ole Miss Business. She also serves as the faculty advisor for the Financiers’ Club at Ole Miss Business, which manages half a million-dollar equity fund for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Before starting her doctoral studies at the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Ge worked in the hedge fund industry in Toronto, Canada.
