UNIVERSITY OF MISSISSIPPI SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES


The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Brief Bio

Michael Howland is an adjunct professor and teaches various classes within the Department of Legal Studies. He received my B.S. in Criminal Justice (Magna Cum Laude) from Troy University and my Master's in Criminal Justice (Homeland Security) from the University of Mississippi. He retired in 2013 from a 25-year career in the United States Joint/Army Special Operations Commands and served eight total tours of combat in Desert Storm, Afghanistan and Iraq. During his service, he was assigned to many elite units, special operations forces and completed his time serving 10+ years with the Army's 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment - Delta (Delta Force). Mr Howland teaches classes that focus on intelligence, special operations and joint inter-agency operations.
