Nicole M. Ashpole is an Assistant Professor in the Department of BioMolecular Sciences within the School of Pharmacy. Dr. Ashpole received her Ph.D. in Medical Neuroscience from Indiana University School of Medicine. Following her Ph.D., Dr. Ashpole accepted a post-doctoral position at the Reynolds Oklahoma Center on Aging within the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. She joined The University of Mississippi in the fall of 2016. Dr. Ashpole's work has focused on understanding changes within the aging brain that lead to cognitive impairment and susceptibility to stroke. These studies have led to numerous publications and presentations. She has received funding from the National Institutes of Health, as well as multiple private organizations.
