The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Brief Bio

Dr. Raspet joined the Physics faculty of the University of Mississippi in September of 1987 as an Associate Professor and was promoted to Full Professor in 1994. He also holds an appointment as an NCPA Principal Scientist. Before joining the Department of Physics and Astronomy, he was a Physicist on the Acoustic Team at the U.S. Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratory in Champaign Illinois. He holds the following degrees: B.S. with distinction in Physics, Rhodes College, M.S. (Physics), and Ph.D. (Physics), University of Mississippi. He has been recognized as a Liberal Arts Distinguished Faculty Fellow in 2006. He is a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America and is an Associate Editor of The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America. His experience includes experimental, theoretical and numerical research in sound propagation, noise mitigation and the interaction of sound with porous media. Specific topics presently under investigation in his laboratory are thermoacoustic power generation and wind noise reduction and theory at audible and infrasonic frequencies. He has directed 22 doctoral and master's students at the University of Mississippi. He has received more than $5 million dollars in grants and has published 100 peer-reviewed papers on physical acoustics topics.
