Biography

Dr. Saim Kashmiri is Mr. and Mrs. James E. King Lecturer and Professor of Marketing at the University of Mississippi. Prior to joining the University of Mississippi in 2012, he earned a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), an MBA from the Lahore University of Management Science (LUMS), and a PhD in Marketing from the University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Kashmiri has worked for around six years in Global Fortune 500 firms such as Shell Oil, Procter and Gamble, and Nestlé, primarily in brand management positions. He enjoys drawing from his real-life experience while teaching his students. Dr. Kashmiri has also been awarded the Fred Moore Assistant Instructor Award (the highest teaching award for Assistant Instructors) at the University of Texas at Austin.

His current research interests are in the areas of marketing strategy, brand management, innovation, upper echelon theory, and marketing-finance interface. His research has been published in several top-tier journals such as the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Production and Operations Management, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Business Ethics, Marketing Letters, European Journal of Marketing, Harvard Business Review (Blogs), and the Marketing Science Institute Working paper series.
