Biography

Sarah Campbell teaches Writing 101. She has been the Instructional Design and Training Specialist for The School of Pharmacy from 2018-2023, as well as an Adjunct Instructor of Teacher Education in the School of Education for four years. After graduating from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1997, Mrs. Campbell taught in districts north of Houston, Texas for nearly 15 years culminating in leadership roles as assessment specialist, lead mentor teacher, and online high school program director. In 2004, Mrs. Campbell served as an environmental education volunteer for Peace Corps Nicaragua. She earned her master's degree and principal certification from Lamar University in 2011. While facilitating courses at Young Women's College Preparatory Academy, Mrs. Campbell was nominated for the Fishman Prize in 2014. Instructor Campbell coordinated the Oxford High School Virtual School for three years from 2015 to 2018 and is earning her PhD in secondary English education here at UM. Her poetry was posted on hottytoddy.com and published in the OXFORD EAGLE. In 2020, she was awarded UM Employee of the Month and the UMSOP Friend of the Student Award. WP recently included her thoughts on teaching with generative AI and researching its effective use in first-year composition courses.
