Brief Bio
Stephanie Stevens is Instructor and Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). Mrs. Stevens received her B.A. from the University of Mississippi in 1993, M.S. from the University of Alabama in 1995, and American Speech-Language-Hearing Association(ASHA) certificate of clinical competence (CCC) in 1996. Following three years of employment in inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and two years in public school systems in Alabama, North Carolina, and Mississippi, Mrs. Stevens took a position as Instructor and SLP at Ole Miss for three years. Although she remained adjunct faculty after that time, she re-entered clinical practice in the public school systems for four years. She rejoined the Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders full-time in 2008. Mrs. Stevens teaches undergraduate classes in articulation and phonological disorders as well as diagnostics and supervises graduate students learning clinical skills. Mrs. Stevens is a Hanen-certified SLP,trained to support and collaborate with the adults in a child's life to develop the best possible language, social, and literacy skills. She chairs the Mississippi Speech- Language-Hearing Association Annual Conference, coordinating the statewide continuing education event. Mrs. Stevens enjoys all aspects of advising and won National Student Speech Language Hearing Association Chapter Advisor Honors in 2010. She has five children and step-children, Jonathan, 23, Libba, 20, Anna Kate, 14, Pearson, 8, and Rob, 7. In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys time with family and friends and spends much time running. She completed three marathons and countless half-marathons at fun locations!
