The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

Brief Bio

Stephen T. Threlkeld is Professor of Biology. Dr. Threlkeld received his B. S. in Oceanography from the University of Washington in 1972 and his Ph.D. in Zoology from Michigan State University in 1977. Dr. Threlkeld held teaching, research and administrative positions at the University of California at Davis, the University of Oklahoma, and Fordham University before joining the University of Mississippi faculty as Professor in 1991. Dr. Threlkeld served as Director of the Population Biology and Physiological Ecology Program at the National Science Foundation in 1988-89, and served as editor for Limnology and Oceanography (1992-1995) and as Managing Editor for Estuaries and Coasts (formerly Estuaries) from 1998-2008. He was a Technical Editor for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in 1995, an organization which shared in the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 for its work in communicating climate change science. Dr. Threlkeld has received research funding from the NSF, USDA, NASA, EPA for his work in aquatic community ecology. Dr. Threlkeld teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in aquatic biology, ecology, experimental design, the ecology of the Grand Canyon region, and the history of biology.
