Brief Bio
Dr. William J. Sumrall is a professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. He began his teaching career as a high school science teacher in Florida after graduating from the University of Mississippi. After receiving his doctorate in science education from the University of Southern Mississippi he began his professorial career at Northeastern Illinois University. McNeese State and Mississippi State universities were other institutions he worked prior to his employment at Ole Miss. Developing curriculum for the K-12 classroom and research in science education have led to over thirty publications in national refereed journals, multiple grant fundings, and a variety of service activities. Currently he is serving as membership director for the Council for Elementary Science International organization.
