Why did you decide to do the MTC Summer Internship?
____The MTC Summer Internship seemed like an extraordinary opportunity for me because I plan to become a secondary school educator after I graduate from Amherst. I love working with students and believe a good education to be one of a person's most important rights. The program also attracted me because of its willingness and committment to addressing the educational inequities inherent in schools today.

What are your goals for the summer?
_____I hope to gain insight into what goes into the making of a program like the MTC as well as increase my awareness of the issues and challenges that face teachers in critical needs areas. I'm also excited to experience and explore southern culture.
