Why did you decide to do the MTC Summer Internship?
____I started tutoring at Amherst in the beginning of my sophomore year and it really made me aware of the educational inequity present all over. I gained a whole new perspective on where I grew up (northern Maine is fairly poor and rundown) and also a new found appreciation for the public school I attended. I've just recently begun researching this problem more in depth and I felt that the MTC Summer Internship would be a great first hand experience with education and the problems that surround it.

What are your goals for the summer?
____I hope to have a honest experience with MTC, so I can decide whether or not it is the right thing for me in the future, and I want to take advantage of the many resources OleMiss and MTC offer in order to learn more about education in general. Most of all, I hope to meet a lot of great people and have an enjoyable experience.
