The Mississippi EPSCoT program (Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Technology) is a state wide, non-profit program consisting of a partnership with the Mississippi Research Consortium (MRC) and grants by the United States Department of Commerce and the Small Business Administration. The University of Mississippi acts as the lead partner working in conjunction with the University of Mississippi Medical Center, University of Southern Mississippi, Mississippi State University, and Jackson State University.
The goals of EPSCoT are to:
1.) Promote the development of small business involvement in innovative technologies
for the state of Mississippi.
2.) Increase Mississippi's small businesses involvement in the government
sponsored SBIR and STTR
programs.
3.) Encourage economic development throughout Mississippi.
To further each of these goals the Mississippi EPSCoT program offers Phase 0 funding of up to $3,000 to assist small businesses in Mississippi develop quality SBIR/STTR grant proposals. The EPSCoT program offers assistance and counseling in all aspects of SBIR/STTR grant submission, including: Financial and Technical Support, Grant Writing assistance, Pre-review of project proposals and follow-up of proposal agency critiques.
