Campus Management Status Report ~ 04-19-2002

Overview

The web view of the Academic Structure is now publicly available. See www.olemiss.edu/services. The remaining programs are trickling in, and IT staff are adding them as they arrive. There are several outstanding issues to be resolved, some of which will be addressed during Joachim Plumbaum's visit (see below).
The Student Accounting, Student Administration and Web teams are finishing up appropriate processing of credit card transactions. A load test is planned for Tuesday, 4/23, to see how well the application and credit card authorization components perform with simlutaneous requests.
Dr. Joachim Plumbaum will be here Wednesday afternoon, 4/24, through Friday, 4/26. We have many sessions related to Phase 2 planned during his visit.
Lee Nelson of SAP-SI will formally begin his CM consulting role on 4/22. Initial areas of focus will be the integration of CM with HR and other financial modules installed at UM.
Representatives from Samford University visited on 4/8, and a representative from the University of Cape Town visited on 4/18 and 4/19.
The next maintenance cycle will be performed as follows: DEV on 5/31, QAS on 6/7, and PRD on 6/15. The issue for CM is whether to perform the 4.64 upgrade during this cycle or to wait until the next opportunity. We will make this decision after we gain a little more experience with 4.64 in teh sandbox environment.
Work on Phase 2 has begun. Last week, we met with Dr. Oliphant, Dr. Eftink, Dr. Ridgeway, and the existing team leads to get started on Phase 2 tasks. Likewise, IT staff assignments for now through 7/31/2002 were made.
Dr. Morris Stocks will be stepping down as the Academic Structure team lead due to the demands of his new position, Dean of Accountancy. He plans to complete is work with the maintenance of the Academic Structure. We appreciate his outstanding service to the Campus Management project and wish him well. Appropriate adjustments will be announced during the new few weeks.

Joe, Jason, and Jill met to finalize some technical issues related to the ISR undergraduate admissions application. Also, Jill and Charlotte met to discuss some outstanding questions related to the ISR undergraduate admissions application.

Jill began making changes to the legacy program to store ISR applications to meet the May 1 deadline.

Cathey Morrisson has identified admissions personnel for training that Onice Carter will schedule.

Project Plan Status

Establish security in legacy so that only Cathey Morrisson and Cammie Champion can enter applications directly into the legacy system. Complete final enhancements to the undergraduate application for admissions including graphical design.
