Several team members from CMU will participate in this
training.
-
PRD was upgraded to include CM 4.64 this weekend.
-
CM Development provided a number of concept documents
related to Degree Audit. Thurlow,
Stribling, Vaughan, Fant, Eftink, Canty,
Knighton, Gates, and Burkhard met several times
this week to discuss these. Thurlow
is drafting UM's response. This will
be discussed in more detail the week of 6/24.
UM's initial response to the ideas presented is
favorable.
-
Outstanding Items from CM Development for UM's Spring 2003 Implementation
- UM (Thurlow, Stribling, Vaughan,
Fant, Knighton, Gates, Burkhard) provided feedback
on the academic history concept to CM Development last week. Meetings
are scheduled with CM Development for the week of 6/24 to discuss this
in more detail. Item #282 "Store Academic History in CM" in the UM
implementation plan is
dependent on the Academic History RFCs and BAPIs. The dates for item
#282 are 5/13/02 - 8/15/02.
-
Most of the Financial Aid RFCs have been delivered as part of CM 4.64.
UM is waiting on CM Development for the
information on when to expect the remaining to
be delivered.
The original target date for the delivery of the CRT containing
the remaining Financial Aid
RFCs was 6/10/2002.
-
UM provided feedback on missing event planning
RFC functionality on 5/11/2002
and is waiting for a formal response from CM Development
on when the remaining RFCs will be delivered.
The web development team is scheduled to begin using
these at the start of August.
-
Hale and Burkhard are attending a Student Accounting workshop the
week of 6/17. They also have meetings scheduled on
Biller Direct and will participate in a workshop
on integrating CM with FM. The integration of CM
with FM is a top priority for UM.
Also, Gates met with Biller Direct Product
Manager, Juergen Weiss, last week at SAPPHIRE.
The original delivery date for the Biller Direct prototype
was 4/1/2002, and the delivery date for the production
version was 5/31/2002.
Hale has arranged to get a copy of the production version
when he is in Walldorf this coming week.
One new piece of information is that Biller Direct requires
Web Application Server 6.20. UM had already requested
and installed WAS 6.10 and has now requested the upgrade (WAS 6.20).

Academic Structure
- Accomplishments/Activities
- Met to discuss maintenance of campus management course information. No updates have been made to the CM database since Dec. 2001 when the mass input of data occurred. The flow of information from the various council minutes was discussed. Both Eforms and the planned status capability in CM are possible methods. Time estimates and functionally of both methods will be examined. Publications has offered to be the group that does the final input of information into CM
- Discussed use of CM to be the source of the course descriptions contained in the catalog. Publication deadlines are so close that this appears to be difficult to meet . The next catalog will be published in two years rather than one, so timing will become less critical of it. Information should be place in the catalog referring to CM as the source for the latest course information.
- A meeting to discuss course cross-listing was held between Drs Stocks, Vaughan, Rick Thurlow, and Tim Warren. One concern is how course credit hours are mapped to the faculty member. Details of this mapping have to be determined.

- Plan for review of prerequisites, co-requisites, and equivalent courses.
Student Administration
- Accomplishments/Activities
- The list of missing data attributes within Campus Management has been finalized and presented in a spreadsheet.
- Individuals assigned to work on the student file and student master data met on Friday, June 14 to discuss the missing data attributes and review a sample student within Campus Management. Appropriate assignments were made.
- Stribling, Fant, Ridgeway, Howorth, and Kreskey met to finalize the list of proposed changes to the online application for undergraduate admissions. Priorities were established and some items were deleted from the list. Ferguson has agreed to make the suggested changes which will speed upnthe data entry time for admissions clerks.
- The registration subteam (Stribling, Thurlow, Norman, Hankins, Leeton, C. Gates, Knighton, and Fant) met several times to discuss issues related to the current registration and advising processes and discussed expectations/changes in registration within CM. The University will continue with current system for assigning priority registration windows for students. Some unresolved issues are how the University will handle advising and whether student groups, such as off-campus and study abroad, will be treated the same as main campus students.
- Norman is configuring student/program notes.
- Fant and Stribling reviewed code table values and are working on finalizing the appropriate table of values for certain fields.
